How to do your makeup in five minutes flat…
When you’ve got kids to get ready each morning chances are your makeup routine has been severely cut down. But as long as you know what you’re doing you can slap on that makeup in five minutes flat. Trust me, I’ll have you walking out of the house looking so good that you’ll never attempt mascara in the car again!
All about that Base
Ditch the traditional foundation and brush and use your hands with a BB cream instead. The tinted cream is much more blendable and therefore quicker to apply. Just make sure you have some baby wipes handy to wipe your hands with after. Try MAC Prep & Prime BB Beauty Balm, $64.
They eyes have it
Firstly you need to find a soft neutral eyeshadow shade that will go with whatever you’re wearing. A good place to start is Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick because it’s easy to swipe a bit of colour on your lids. Try Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla, $60.
A quick swipe of black or dark brown eyeliner on your upper lid will instantly make your eyes appear bigger and more finished. Added to that a lashing of mascara and you’re almost done. Try Bobbi Brown Kajal liner, $60 and Lancome Grandiose Extreme mascara $62.
Frame your face
If you need to skip a step this is probably the one to go first – however let me implore to you how important it is to give your brows a bit of attention. For the quickest option find a brow pencil and apply in fine hair-like strokes along your brows by mimicking the natural direction of your brow hair. Try Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour, $33.
Light it up
To finish apply a highlighter to the tops of your cheekbone, and if you have a spare seconds you can add it to the top of your brow bone ( just under your brows) too. When doing my makeup fast I usually try and stay away from using brushes, however you may need one for this depending what product you choose. My personal favourite? MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle, $64.
