HELLOFRESH

Say hello to the new to NZ food delivery service that is making life easier and more convenient while offering a delicious variety on your weekly meals…and it can help you too.

Let me confess – I’m not the best cook. And lately, working full time while looking after a toddler and being pregnant has made family dinners boring and well, tasteless. I just can’t seem to find the time or energy to pre-plan and organise nightly meals and it ends up being a rushed and unenjoyable affair for everyone involved. So I was elated when I heard of HelloFresh, the new to New Zealand food delivery service that takes the hard work out of that dinner-time rush.

For me, the number one drawcard about HelloFresh is the convenience. I love not having to even think or plan weekly meals. Once I’d signed up for the Classic Box which provides five meals for four people, I was set. The food was delivered right on time, cutting out my weekly haphazard meal planning and constant trips to the supermarket. In fact, I only went to the shops once to get some milk and nappies and was in and out in ten minutes – saving myself so much time and energy.

The meals themselves offered a refreshing variety and were things I’d never ordinarily cook. From herby beef koftas with nutty couscous to Chinese hoisin-glazed chicken our palates were sufficiently satiated with the delicious meals. I particularly loved the goats’ cheese & pesto spaghetti which was so simple to cook and was on the table in 25 minutes. The recipes were family-friendly too – even the two-year-old was enjoying them. What’s more, there were ample leftovers which meant I didn’t have to waste time at night making lunches for my husband and me for the following day, effectively saving me even more time.

Arriving in one big box, the fresh, seasonal and local produce was thoughtfully divided into colour-coded bags (aside from the refrigerated goods) meaning you only need to grab a bag each night and you’re good to go. There is no fussing trying to find what you need to use either. With easy to follow recipes, I loved the fact that you didn’t have to share ingredients between each weeknight meal, taking away any confusion about what you need to include for each meal. Best part, all recipes took roughly 30 minutes max from start to finish!

HelloFresh made my week so simple by not having to even think about dinner and offered peace of mind knowing that each night, dinner was sorted. It really took the pressure off. The best news is you can try it too. HelloFresh is offering $35 off your first box to all Day Dot readers. Claim the deal here.
