5 Essential Online Stores for New Mums

Struggling to go shopping with the new bub? We’ve got the best online stores so you’ll never have to leave the house…

I’m as partial to a bit online shopping as much as the next person, but it wasn’t until I was stuck at home with a baby that it became my lifeline. Especially when you need something fast but just can’t get to the shops that day. Here are my favourite websites that meant I  could get replenishments without setting foot outside.

1. Baby Bag

Need nappies, formula, babyfood? Today? Then The Baby Bag should be your first port of call. The ingenious idea was started by a mum who knew how difficult even the smallest task of supermarket shopping can be with little ones. If you order before 12pm delivery is the SAME DAY which means when you suddenly have a nappy emergency – they’ll have you re-supplied within hours.

2. The Sleep Store

Any mum knows one of the biggest struggles with a new baby is getting it to sleep, which is why the aptly named Sleep Store is so amazing. Whether you need sleepsuits, blackout blinds or a comforter for your baby’s cot – they’ve got you covered. Better yet they have a huge Facebook presence which offers sleep consultant specialists and a very vocal community of online mums for various stages of your babies growth that you can join giving you sleep solutions for every age.

3. Countdown

Sometimes it can feel like you live at the supermarket and by the time you get home you realise you have to return tomorrow because you forgot something! Countdown takes all those issues away, and gives you back that time. It also has a handy function that remembers what you’ve last bought for an even quicker online shopping experience.

4. My Food Bag

Before I had a baby I liked My Food Bag but following my baby’s birth I loved it. It wasn’t just that delicious food to cook and recipes got delivered weekly to my doorstep. It was the fact that I didn’t even have to think or plan what we’d be eating for the week.

5. The Iconic

For your fashion fix you can’t go past The Iconic. With brands ranging from Alice McCall to Adidas, and Nike to Nancy Ganz (that’s right – you can even buy your shape wear there!) it’s got all your clothing, accessories and footwear needs sorted. So your issue will never be what to buy, but when to stop…

  1. Hi Sarah, so this is amazing, and so interesting for me as I’m in the midst of putting together a website myself. I’d love to pick your brains about a few things. Anyhow, well done. I want to share this on Facebook. How would I go about doing this? There doesn’t seem to be a share function available on your post. Love to your two boys. xB

    1. Hi Bernadette,
Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out. It’s been a real passion project for the last 12 months!
Hmmmm… I can see a share button at the bottom of the post but maybe I can only see that and it’s not visible to anyone else? I’ll look into it in the morning. And yes we can definitely talk website stuff – happy to help. Email me on hello@daydot.co.nz or message me on FB.xx
