Bathtime with Bubs

Four Baby Beauty Brands I’m Loving…

mum life, mom life, bathtime, baby brands, baby skin, baby

Like any busy mum tackling #mumlife, I barely take notice of what I slap on my skin these days. But when it comes to my baby I feel like a forensic scientist, constantly googling the lists of ingredients on the back of a bottle to ensure it’s okay for his delicate little skin.  Here are my top picks:

Jurlique: Who doesn’t love a good multi-tasking product – especially if it means you can get the kids to bed quicker? This shampoo and body wash not only cleanses and hydrates your baby’s skin, but it’s also infused with lavender which works to soothe and calm your little one making it the perfect pre-bed ritual. Try Julique Baby’s Gentle Shampoo and Body Wash, $19 (AUS).

Sukin: A mix of soothing botanicals such as aloe vera and chamomile, as well as nourishing avocado and evening primrose oil are used to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. Best bit? This one is fragrance free because let’s be honest – babies smell good enough as it is. Try Sukin Baby Gentle Body Wash Fragrance Free, $9.95 (AUS).

Skinfood: I’ve always really liked Skinfood’s products so I was elated during my pregnancy when I found out they were launching a baby range called Little Body. The range includes every product your baby needs including shampoo, body wash, powder, nappy cream, lotion and my person favourite – their Little Body Oil. Made from sweet almond oil it’s the perfect post-bath product to massage into your little ones (often dry) skin.  Skin Food Little Body Oil, $23.99.

Ethique: Something a little different is Kiwi brand Ethique (pronounced Eh-tique – it’s French for Ethical) Like its name suggests their solid bars are made with natural ingredients, and are cruelty free and vegan. They also use biodegradable ingredients and wrappers so their solid bars leave no trace on the planet. With a wide range there is something for everyone in the family (even pets!) but what we’re interested in is their baby products which are PH balanced. Keep in mind this brand doesn’t use ingredients that block the eyes natural tear response – so this won’t be a ‘no tears’ product. However, their Oaty Delicious soap for babies is formulated for hair and bodies and infused with coconut oil, as well as lavender and chamomile oil to give it a sweet smell. On top of that solid bars actually last between three to six times longer than bottled products so it really is value for money. Try Ethique Oaty Delicious – Gentle Shampoo Bar for Little Ones, $22.
